Financial Help

BIRD is a registered charity that provides a service on a voluntary basis. We ask charitable trusts, companies, voluntary groups and the public to contribute to our funds. However, there always remains a shortfall. We help hundreds of patients each year and so we have limited funds that will not stretch. Due to this fact we ask you the patient/patients family or carer to contribute towards the treatment and related service that you will receive at the BIRD Centre. By operating in this way, we at BIRD are able to continue to improve the quality of life for many other patients.

We recognise that for some, the cost of treatment may be difficult to find in full; it is for this reason that the 'Bursary Scheme' was introduced. The aim of the Scheme is to support families whose income levels make affording the treatment costs difficult. All applications for bursaries from BIRD will be given to a panel that will consider each case on its own merits ensuring that all the information that you provide is taken into account. BIRD will review each bursary that has been offered on an annual basis. If you find that your circumstances have changed during the year, please contact us to advise of the change.

An application form and further details are available from the Centre.
